Let’s get this off the ground.
I won’t pretend that I’ve been drinking whisky forever.
I’m not a hipster telling you I drank whisky before it was cool. I don’t remember the days when Pappy Van Winkle was on every shelf from Seattle to Maine. I never saw Elmer T. Lee at the local CVS. Putting ice in a bourbon isn’t against my religion.
No, I caught the rising tide of whisky in 2017 and never looked back. I dove deep. I went down the rabbit hole and haven’t yet come out the other side.
Before whisky, I drank rum. Rum was exciting. Rum had no rules. There weren’t any purists who told you what was good or how to drink it. When I started with whisky however, I quickly found out there were a lot of rules.
Some of the rules were from the industry.
Some of them came from drinkers.
Some of them came from collectors.
I’ll tell you that I don’t care about any of those “rules”. Drink what you like, how you like. Pay what you want, for what you want. Hunt for your unicorns - and if you have to pay over retail - so be it.
My only goals are just to let you know what I like to drink, what I choose to buy, and what I keep on my shelves. Your mileage may vary. But thanks for stopping in, and let’s share a pour together someday.
